VotL makes its European debut

While serving as a visiting professor in the Cultura e Letteratura Italiana-Americana program (CLIA) at the University of Calabria in January, Michele Fazio screened Voices of the Lumbee to an audience of graduate students and faculty engaged in research about diaspora and immigration studies.  Her talk, “Oral History and Community Engagement in a Transnational Context: Stories of Migration Past and Present,” encouraged the study of work histories throughout the regions in Southern Italy to examine how labor and immigration patterns shape community and family life.
